Art Residency in Hyeres, France
I’m in Hyeres, France right now painting at a residency. The village is spectacular, so full of inspiration as I explore my new series “Peregrination”. A peregrination is a meandering walk by foot and for me, this series is based on my 800km walk on the Camino de Santiago in 2017. You can read more about this in my Artist Statement (found under the Peregrination tab).
I discovered this residency (LMStudio) while watching a family called Worldtowning, who lived in Hyeres for a year. They happened to showcase an artwalk on this particular video. I applied to the studio and….I’m here! The people are lovely as we attempt speak in our broken-French-to-English conversations and I have learned a lot about the village so far…as you know I love history, so I’m in heaven here in France.
You never know where you will find opportunities, they are endless and everywhere…have you ever adventured to apply to a residency or exhibition you knew nothing about?
